SEEDS FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY FLOODS IN FOJNICA MAGLAJ

Within the project NIN2, on April 29. 2015, HWA delivered seeds for spring sowing to families who were struck by floods in 2014 in Fojnica settlement –Maglaj Municipality. The donation consisted of 700 kg of potatoes, 21 kg of corn, 50 kg of red onions, 23 kg of garlic and 207 sachets of fine seeds.

 

 

 

DONATIONS TO PUBLIC LIBRARY AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN MAGLAJ

In the course of implementation of Raiffeisen Bank funded project aimed at post-flood recovery, on April 29. 2015, HWA delivered donations to public library and elementary school in Maglaj in the total value of 5800 KM. The library received a video camera with stands, two TVs and two DVD players, while the school received 6 wall maps for Geography classes, tools for geometry lessons and technical equipment - a computer, a projector, a fax/scanner/copier machine.

FOOTBALL SCHOOL IN TRAVNIK RECEIVES A VALUABLE DONATION

On May 6. 2015, Directors of the implementer HWA in B&H and the donor-Raiffeisen bank visited the football school “Bubamara” in Travnik and donated sports equipment worth 8.900 KM (50 tracksuits with t-shirs, shorts, socks and running shoes, 25 balls, goal nets, large and small skittles and floor ladders for coordination traning). This donation is one more step in the project of assisting recovery in flood affected areas for which Raiffeisen Bank and its employees secured 350 000 KM.

A MEETING WITH TUZLA MAYOR CONCERNING TWO MAJOR PROJECTS

On April 22, 2015 HWA met with Tuzla Mayor Jasmin Imamović and discussed two projects that are in the advanced implementation stage; the construction of the first Center for Autism in B&H  and the construction of a social housing building  in Tuzla.
The Center for Autism shall be the first multidisciplinary institution for early diagnosing of Autism and adequate further care, education, health protection and socialization. It is well known that significant steps forward in treating persons with Autism are achieved with early diagnosing. The construction of Center for Autism is co-financed by Tuzla Town and Canton Tuzla.
Since the significant funding for completion of this project is still missing, the joint advocating with the possible donors, Federation and State institutions and Municipalities whose citizens would be the future users of the Center has been agreed.
The construction of a residential building with 16 flats for socially vulnerable categories is in progress. It is a joint project of Tuzla Town and this humanitarian organization. The residential building under construction shall also contain premises for local community office and outpatient clinic.

FIFTEEN NEW HOUSES FOR ROMA FAMILIES IN LUKAVAC

On March 25, 2015, fifteen reconstructed houses were handed over to Roma families in Lukavac Municipality, following their technical acceptance. The ROMA ACTION Project that supports socio-economic inclusion of Roma in BiH through housing, socio-economic measures with proactive participation of local authorities and other stakeholders is financed by the European Union through the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA 2011)
Municipality Lukavac is one of fourteen municipalities in the project that strongly support Roma social inclusion through housing. The municipality has actively participated in the project implementation and provided a co-funding in the amount of 50.000 KM.
