On September 10, 2015, in the presence of UNHCR and Foca Municipality representatives, HWA delivered an automatic edging machine to „BREST“ company in Foča. Putting this machine into function shall expand the production capacities and thereby create prerequisites for opening of new jobs for returnees/displaced persons in Foča.
As one of the UNHCR project partners Hilfswerk Austria International is implementing the project „Support to durable solutions of the revised strategy for implementation of Annex VII of Dayton Peace Agreement which is funded by the UNHCR and the EU. Within this project, on August 24, 2015. contracts have been signed for construction of 13 houses for returnees and internally displaced persons in Foča Municipality. It was also stressed that the beneficiaries would be assisted through the component of economic sustainability, which shall certainly facilitate the entire return process for them.
On August 20, 2015, a ceremony of signing tripartite agreements with beneficiaries took place in Capljina Municipality and thereby marked the beginning of construction of 5 houses with accompanying infrastructure for 5 Roma families in Capljina Municipality. The works are expected to be completed in 45 days and they take place under the EU IPA funded project Roma Action that is designed to significantly improve the position of Bosnian Roma citizens in housing and social inclusion aspects of their lives.
Within the project „Support to durable solutions of the revised strategy for implementation of Annex VII of Dayton Peace Agreement“, contracts for construction/reconstruction of housing units for 15 families were signed on August 18, 2015 in Brčko City Hall. It is important to mention that the same beneficiaries shall be assisted through the component for economic sustainability of the return, within the same project.
On August 18, 2015 a ceremonial signing of tripartite agreements was held in Bijeljina with 20 families which were selected as beneficiaries for construction of housing within the project „Support to durable solutions of the revised strategy for implementation of Annex VII of the Dayton Peace Agreement“. The same beneficiaries were immediately interviewed for economic support. In line with the project in subject, all beneficiaries of the housing, already selected as socially extremely vulnerable families from the category of returnees and displaced persons, who express a need and are capable of working and in possession of resources, shall be supported as a pat of the project component – measures of economic sustainability and they shall acquire prerequisites for economic empowerment and income generation.
