Delivery of grants for economic sustainability

Grant naslovHumanitarna organisation Hilfswerk Austria International as on of the UNHCR poartners is implementing a part of activities in the project IPA – EU/UNHCR 2013/335-342 funded by the UNHCR and the European Union „Support to durable solutions of the revised strategy for implementation of Annex VII of Dayton peace agreement“ through the procurement of goods/tools for self-employment and income generation for Project beneficiaries, returnees and displaced persons in the area of BiH Municipalities.

Within this project, a delivery of goods for economic sustainability was made between June 24 and July 15, 2016 in Foča, Bijeljina, Brčko District, Maglaj, Mostar, Gradiška and Prijedoru, as follows: 11 heifers, construction material for 3 stables and 12 greenhouses for cultivation of vegetables (assembly included).

SEVEN HOUSES CONSTRUCTED/RECONSTRUCTED IN ŽIVINICE

WP 20160715 12 02 16 ProSeven houses with accompanying infrastructure have been constructed/reconstructed in Živinice Municipality in the period from April 18 to July 10, 2016 and today we are handing them over to the beneficiaries. By the end of 2016, we will construct a number of houses for beneficiaries that are currently being selected.
At the same time we shall provide grants for the families that are capable of working and were not recipients of other donations and thereby we will economically support and empower them, so that their integration and reintegration into society could be easier and better. Živinice Municipality provided technical support to construction/reconstruction to these housing units through participation in the Working group for selection of beneficiaries, through assisting beneficiaries with collecting necessary documentation for participation in the project, and through exemption from taxes for construction permits, said Ms. Azema Avdušinović, project manager in Hilfswerk Austria International za BiH.
 

Contract of cooperation signed within the project Roma Action

1-185-696x467Hilfswerk Austria International and Ministry of Social Policy and Refugees of Zenica Doboj Canton signed a contract on implementation of the project Roma Action.

The aim of the project is support to social inclusion of Roma famililes in the areas struck by floods. 2.827.000 Euro has been secured for this purpose, out of which the EU provided 2.5 million, and the rest was contributed by the local authorities. Nine municipalites/cities and two relevant ministries of Zenica Doboj Canton and Federation Government.

SOCIAL HOUSING BUILDING IN CADORDZINA, STARI GRAD HANDED OVER

SGnaslovnaSeven families from the area of Stari grad received contracts for the usage of flats in a newly constructed social housing building in Cadordzina street. After more than 20 years of waiting, these families now have permanent homes. The committee for beneficiary selection of Stari Grad Municipality selected the beneficiaires of the project „System of Social Housing SHS“. They are the families in the status of social need, they had no homes of their own and the Municipality was paying for their secondary accomodation so far. They are the beneficiaries of permanent financial aid, single parents, invalids, persons with no income etc.

The consruction of the building in the local comunity Logavina in municipality Stari grad began in February this year.

NEW HOUSES FOR 20 FAMILIES IN BIJELJINA CITY

naslovBijeljinaTwenty houses with accompanying infrastructure have been constructed/reconstructed in Bijeljina city. On December 28. 2015 10 houses were handed over to the beneficiaries, and 10 houses had already been handed over on December 18. Bijeljina city gave support to the construction and reconstruction of these housing units by having provided urban and construction permits.

We are pleased to say that in 2015, HWA, within its project activities constructed and handed over 72 houses and one residential building with 6 housing units to very vulnerable returnee and refugee families in municipalities: Gradiška, Prijedor, Bosanski Petrovac, Brčko and Foča, including Bijeljina city. The beneficiaries of housing units who are capable of working and did not receive other donations will be supported by the measures of economic sustainabilility through the allocation of tools for work with the purpose of self-employment and income generation.
